Pick the one your dog is doing.

01

Why does my dog eat grass?

Most dogs eat grass out of curiosity or mild boredom. A few do it because their stomach is upset. It's almost never an emergency.

02

Why does my dog lick me so much?

It's mostly affection and information-gathering. They taste salt on your skin, smell what you've been doing, and communicate love. Occasionally it's anxiety.

03

Why does my dog follow me everywhere?

Dogs are pack animals. You are the pack. Following is normal. It only becomes a problem when they can't tolerate any separation.

04

Why is my dog shaking?

Could be cold, fear, excitement, pain, or illness. Context tells you which. Sudden shaking with other symptoms is the one to take seriously.

05

Why is my dog panting so much?

Panting is how dogs cool down. Normal after exercise or in heat. Worth investigating if it happens at rest, in cool conditions, or paired with other symptoms.

06

Why is my dog throwing up?

One isolated vomit is usually fine. Repeated vomiting, vomiting blood, or vomiting with other symptoms needs a vet. The contents tell you a lot.

07

Why is my dog limping but acting normal?

Most limping is from a minor strain or stepped-on something painful. Watch for 48 hours. If it persists, gets worse, or your dog won't bear weight, see a vet.

08

Why does my dog scoot their butt on the floor?

Almost always anal glands. Sometimes worms or skin irritation. Either way, the cause is easy to figure out and treat.

09

Why does my dog eat poop?

Called coprophagia. Disgusting but rarely dangerous. Causes range from nutritional to behavioral. Fixable in most cases.

10

Why does my dog smell so bad?

It's almost never just 'they need a bath.' Common real causes: ears, anal glands, skin issues, breath, or wet fur. Bathing more is usually the wrong fix.
